It’s almost here — the absolute best time of the year! The Stanley Cup Playoffs are coming up, and everyone is ready!

The 2017-2018 NHL season has concluded and it’s now time for the playoffs. The fact is, hockey’s postseason shows what sports are really about and reminds all the fans why they become so addicted. The playoffs create that feeling of awe like no other, and provokes nerves like other post seasons can’t compare with.

For those who may be unfamiliar with the Stanley Cup Playoffs (for example, if they have been living in a hole), here they can learn what makes them truly special.

  • The sportsmanship: Even after fighting unrelentingly, each team puts their differences aside at the end to participate in the handshake line.
  • A brand-new season: While it may seem as though when the playoffs are reached in early April, and after teams have endured an 82-game schedule, the end of the year is near, the opposite is true. In fact, the start of the playoffs is the start of an entirely new season. Four rounds. Each series is best of seven.
  • Beards: Yes, who can forget the beards? This is the real symbol of triumph and unity! However, don’t forget about the extreme mullets, hairstyles and more!
  • The Cup: Claim to the Stanley Cup — does more need to be said?
