The 2017-2018 hockey season is winding down, with the race for the Stanley Cup having started on April 11, 2018. However, looking back over the season, there is no question that it was full of ups, downs and truly amazing, sent-from-above shots that won’t be soon forgotten.

While there are more than a few goals worth mentioning regarding “goal of the year,” here hockey fans can read about some of the most epic shots taken and scored this season. Relive some of the best moments in NHL history, right here.

The Golden Knights William Karlsson

When it was first announced that Sin City, Las Vegas, Nevada, was getting a hockey team, no one thought it would be such an epic season. In addition to winning the Pacific Division, the Knight’s own Karlsson is definitely a contender for the title “goal of the year.”

In fact, some are touting his “between the legs shot” against the Sharks goaltender Martin Jones as one of the flashiest and boldest ever made. There’s no question that this is one hockey highlight that is going to withstand the test of time.

Sidney Crosby’s Amazing Goal

In October of 2017, Crosby was in his first shootout situation of the season, in a game between Montreal and Pittsburgh. While Crosby is known for his amazing ability on the ice, some are calling the goal he pulled off here as “completely insane.”

Not only was he able to make a seemingly impossible shot, he also helped to tie up the game. Talk about your MVP.

A Look Back in Time

While the 2017-2018 NHL season was full of surprises, upsets and a lot of fun, now is the time to take a look back into the history of this sport.

When it comes to amazing goals, you can’t really forget about the iconic flying goal made by Bobby Orr, or Mike Eruzione’s miracle on ice in 1980.

The NHL is one of those sports where you never really know what is going to happen, which is part of the appeal. Regardless of if you are a diehard hockey fan, or someone who just watches from time to time, anyone can appreciate the skill and finesse it takes to make one of the goals like those highlighted above.
