Finding the best midget hockey tournaments does not have to be hard. In fact, there are several U-16 tournaments that will be taking place this November. Midget hockey, of course, is for amateur hockey players from 15 to 17 years old. This is a form of minor hockey – but players usually stay in these leagues for three seasons. Their skill levels and/or age also determine which divisions they will play in. This includes A Division, along with AA Division and AAA Division. With midget hockey leagues, there are always in-league competitions that happen each year. Similarly, teams practice regularly and usually compete for divisional championships as well.

As part of our Hockey Night Section, here are some upcoming midget hockey (15-17 years) tournaments to consider:

The Motown Cup NON-CONTACT Tournament Series

The Motown Cup NON-CONTACT Tournament Series takes place from November 3 – 5, 2017. This ice hockey tournament is for bantam, minor and midget hockey clubs in the Greater Detroit and Windsor, Ontario areas. However, teams will be participating from all over Michigan, Ontario and the USA. The skill level criteria for this event are B, BB, House Select and House.

Non-Contact means that there will be little to no checking allowed. Instead, this midget hockey event is geared towards showcasing team skills and play. USA Hockey will have U18 and U17 National Development Teams participating in this event. If you would like to enter your club or team, simply visit Its Hockey Time for more information. The event will be held at the Brownstown Sports Center.

The Rock ‘N Roll Cup Tournament Series

The Rock ‘N Roll Cup Tournament also takes place from November 3 – 5, 2017. This annual midget ice hockey tournament will feature competing teams from Detroit, Buffalo and Pittsburgh. Teams will also be joining from all over Ohio and Southern Ontario. The skill level criteria for this event are A, AA, B, BB, House Select and House. This spectacular event takes place at the Barons – Lakefront Arena and will be attended by families and fans alike.

The event will be contested under regular midget – minor ice hockey rules with a strong emphasis on puck handling and scoring skills. If you would like to enter your club or team, simply visit Its Hockey Time for more information. It is advised to contact the organizers ASAP since the event commences this Friday, November 3 2017.
